Equilus provides a range of horse-related activities for people with disability, creating opportunities to participate, learn new skills, build confidence and enjoy being part of a community.
From riding and carriage driving to ground-based activities and competition, our programs are designed to be engaging, supportive and adaptable to individual abilities and goals.
Our Programs
Choose Your Journey
Every person is different, and so is their Equilus experience. The programs available vary between centres depending on facilities, horses, coaches and local capabilities.
Riding
Horse riding activities designed to develop skills, confidence, coordination and enjoyment.
Driving
Carriage driving is available at some centres and provides another way to participate in horse-related activities.
Ground-Based
Connect with horses from the ground through grooming, leading, games and other activities.
Competition
For participants who want to challenge themselves, there are opportunities to participate in competitions at centre, state and wider levels.
Riding Program
Discover the Joy of Riding
Horse riding at Equilus is about more than learning to ride. It provides an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, connect with a horse, develop new skills and experience a sense of achievement.
Sessions are designed around each participant's abilities and goals, with activities adapted to provide an enjoyable and supportive experience.

Supported Volunteering

Ground-based programs are led by accredited coaches and supported by volunteers, with activities adapted to the individual participant.

Funding & Fees
Understanding your options
Equilus is a registered NDIS provider. If you're using NDIS funding, our team can help you understand how our programs may fit within your plan and what costs may apply.
NDIS Funding
If you have an NDIS plan, our team can help you understand how our programs may fit within your funding and discuss the applicable support arrangements.
Participant Contributions
Some costs may not be covered by NDIS funding and may be payable by the participant. Your local centre can explain the fees that apply to your program before you begin.
